Discovering black and white

For many years my street photography was presented exclusively in color with full details in the shadows and highlights. Dodging and burning was applied moderately. In order to discover new opportunities I went on an endavour to discover black and white. I set myself the task to not only switch to black and white but also to work in high contrast style.

Istanbul

Below pictures were shot in Kadıköy / Istanbul on the Asian side of the Bosphorus in November 2021.

Paris

Below pictures were taken in Paris, also in November 2021. The sunny weather helped to create powerfull black and white. Shadows are an additional subject that become part of the image.
