These images were taken in a Paris bar called 'Le Constellation'. The combination of flash and existing light creates blur and motion which enhances the roaring atmosphere of this multicultural bar.

In 2003 the serie was exhibited at the City Museum of Zutphen.
A typical characteristic of Berlin is the vast amount of graffity covering the buildings. These images were taken in 2006. The first image shows a graffity artist at work, the second image the end result. Unfortunately, the next day the work was already covered with new graffity ...

In 2005 the serie was exhibited at Galerie 21 in Bredevoort.

The images were taken on assignment of the W.J.H. Mulier Institute, Centre for Research on Sports in Society in cooperation with the Stichting Beeldende Amateurkunst (SBA). In 2006 they were shown to the public as part of a traveling exhibition along major sports institutes in the Netherlands.
Rudi Verhagen prefers to photograph children without letting them pose for the camera. This snapshot approach is key to getting natural images that best reflect the child's character.
Long exposure times were chosen to give an impression of motion typical to dance. The subdued lightness and tone adds to the mysterious atmosphere. This approach gives rather unpredictable results but the end result can be rewarding ...
Modern Paris cityscape

    Petten - the Netherlands (7)
    Alps - France (8-10)
Photographer Rudi Verhagen (1970) uses his surprise for the new, notable and unexpected aspects of this world to create startling images. Other cultures, special events, but also the ‘beauty’ of daily life inspire him. There is always something happening in his images. Theater, parties, events, unexpected encounters on the street; that’s the time Rudi is in his element. Interfering with the subject is undesirable, nothing is staged. Improvising, reacting swiftly and a sharp eye for characteristic details are his qualities. He works mainly on location because this results in pure, direct images. At the Fotovakschool (Dutch School for Professional Photography) he specialized in Photojournalism and Digital Imaging.

In short, there are numerous possibilities. Feel free to contact Rudi to discuss your wishes regarding reportage assignments, image editing or the purchase of prints. Delivery is possible in various sizes, framed or unframed.
